Restoration Hardware- Houston Case Study
In the summer of 2011, Restoration Hardware put out a Request for a Proposal to 10 Public Relations agencies in Houston, San Francisco and New York, and OtMC was selected to launch the brand's next generation store in Highland Village designed by noted architect Howard Backen and Restoration Hardware then-Chairman and Co-CEO Gary Friedman. The 25,000-square-foot space and 7,000-square-foot rooftop garden was the company's second "Gallery" concept launch after Los Angeles, and OtMC was retained to handle local, regional, and national media relations for the store launch in addition to conceptualizing and executing a major Grand Opening event. OtMC cherry- picked 10 social influencers to serve on a Host Committee that CultureMap Society Reporter Shelby Hodge would ultimately refer to as "the five-star host committee of social heavyweights, design leaders and bon vivants." The event was attended by over 1,200 people representing the Who's Who of Houston and would be heralded as "the party of the year" by Houston Chronicle Arts Editor Molly Glentzer. In addition to garnering extensive event and social coverage, OtMC secured an inordinate amount of press for the brand that would set the stage for it becoming one of the top producing Restoration Hardware locations in the U.S.
